By far the worst US import I can name is their political ideologies. If you thought I fought that shit savagely before, get ready. Maple MAGAs are welcome to fuck off to their fave dictatorship or shut up. They are a threat to Canada and I won't be nearly so polite in dealing with them in future.

Speaking of honk, the best part of Trudeau's speech on Saturday was when he said Canadians are "always out there waving the maple leaf loudly and proudly" as if that exact tendency wasn't the bane of his existence for a solid year+.

In the wake of mutual tariff announcements, I want to suggest that we embrace the old wartime concept of the victory garden. Even if all you can do is grow lettuce or herbs on your window sill, it's worth it. We've lost so much self sufficiency and this seems like a good time to reclaim a bit.

I'm in Canada but this is still important. Maybe more so with certain politicians scurrying to show obeisance. Do not comply in advance.
These executive orders on banning federally funded entities from recognizing trans people or disallowing them from using the bathroom are not self-executing or immediately enforceable. They require formal rule making at a minimum. They are a scare tactic. Ignore and do not comply in advance.
