The Larger Pacific Striped Octopus is a unique and a yet to be described octopus species.

It is the only octopus species that is known to be social, forming groups of up to 40 octopuses. They are also one of only two octopus species that can spawn multiple times.

The Mimic Octopus (Thaumoctopus mimicus) is known for its acting skills. They will mimic several different animals, both in order to deter predators and to hunt their own prey.

Its arms are extending out, and mostly have a wavy pattern, although one arm is raised and curled around. Its eyes are being raised up, and it has two long bits above each eyes that resemble fleshy horns. It has an alternative pattern of white and brown. This is most notable on its arms, which have alternating brown and white stripes, with a thin white lin going down the length of the arms. A Mimic Octopus (Thaumoctopus mimicus) going across the sandy seafloor which mimicing a zebra sole. It has body pressed flat against the seafloor, giving it a wide and flat appearance. It has an alternating maroon and pink/white pattern, but mostly marroon. Its arms have alternating stripes of maroon and pink, with its white suckers visible. A Mimic Octopus (Thaumoctopus mimicus) sitting in the sand. Its head and mantle are visible, and long "horns" extend from above each eye. Its arms are wavy and extend behind it. It has a white and brown striped pattern. A Mimic Octopus (Thaumoctopus mimicus) sitting in the sand. Its head, mantle and arms are sticking out of the sand. Two arms are extending up on a diagonal, like it is trying to resemble a "Y" like with the YMCA dance. The two arms on either side of those arms are extending back and curling around. One arm is extending straight back. It has an alternative pattern of white and brown. This is most notable on its arms, which have alternating brown and white stripes, with a thin white lin going down the length of the arms.
