📢Global Carbon Budget 2025📢

Fossil CO2 emissions continue to rise in 2025 while the terrestrial carbon sink recovers to pre-El Niño strength.

The key findings are covered in two reports this year:
* ESSDD (preprint): essd.copernicus.org/preprints/es...

The Swedish combined Ecosystem Atmosphere station @hyltemossa.bsky.social hosted by @lunduniversity.bsky.social is one of the forests, where additional sensors for measuring #fAPAR have been installed.
Recent installations from the @horizoneu.bsky.social project #NUBICOS are helping enhance use of ICOS data for the remote sensing community.

Additional sensors for measuring #fAPAR were installed at several ICOS Ecosystem forest sites across Europe🌲

We reached the end of the pole, the sun lit part of the crown is out of reach for our clipper. So we needed to deploy an alternative method to retrieve branches for the @icos-ri.eu nutrient and leaf area/mass analysis.
If someone has a drone for branch sampling, we are happy to test it next year.
