Why?

I am zealous but not specifically about Linux. Everyone deserves the right to do what they want with their computer, even if it means sticking with Windows. What makes me mad is the thought of people's choice being robbed because they were lead to believe Windows was the only option.

Yes, I've noticed you are quite insistent on causing damage to people's perception of Linux as a whole. I am actively working to undo that by using specific examples to show how easy specific distros can be to use and install. Unlike you, I value people's right to choose for themselves.

You might be surprised just how much software IS natively compatible. It's your computer, I just want people to make the choice based on up to date info, not outdated propaganda. It's worth checking the specific programs you want to use to see if they'll work.

Linux isn't perfect, but every problem I've had so far had either a solution or a workaround, as opposed to Windows where some of the problems are deliberate design choices that Microsoft will double-down on. Idk what caused OP's problem but it's not fair of them to assume that's universal.

You're over here claiming that all of "Linux" is nonviable because of your specific experience with POP OS. Like, I'm sorry you're having issues, and I personally would have tried to help with them, but you're dragging every other distro through the mud for no reason.

The neat part about Linux is how modular it is. You've got the "distro" (the chassis, engine, etc), the desktop environment (a body-kit), and themes (paint). They can be interchanged somewhat freely.

Linux distros are like cars. There are different models to do different things. On a fundamental level, they're all vehicles, but some are faster, or have better towing capacity, or are kit-cars where you have to build them entirely from scratch.

Yeah, what version?

I know you're not frustrated at me. I'm not frustrated at you either, I just hate when one person has a specific issue with one specific version of Linux and then tells everyone that all of Linux is non-viable.

Most hardware works out of the box on Linux. Someone has also made GoXLR for Linux, and their application has a Windows version so you could try it out before needing to switch if you wanted to:

Release 1.2.3 - Fixes and Features · GoXLR-on-Linux/goxlr-utility
Hi all, welcome to the 1.2.3 release of the GoXLR Utility. I've had a couple of new features and bugfixes floating around for a while, so decided it was time to dust my GoXLRs off, tack in a few ex...
