Hockey, fencing, TTRPGs, board games. More reading than posting. RIP bird app.
If this happens, then the rule of law in Alberta is over in all but name. Authoritarians will ram through whatever legislation they want, harming whomever they want, without debate or legal recourse. Response will need to be loud and widespread. This might be "strong" but it certainly isn't "free".

The main advantage of the political parties was the increased ability to fundraise and the need to fundraise has passed. I suspect these councillors will be part of parties in the next election, perhaps new ones. (I am also skeptical that their views have changed just because they left the party)

I guess I got off easy with a one-year 30% increase - no accidents, no change in coverage. Agent told me it is what it is. 20+ year customer. Foolish govt moving to "no-fault" insurance (like BC!) but privately provided (not like BC!). I'd love to hear them dance around why this is good for ABtans.

Ah yes, the same "we are adding beds"/"we have enough beds" convo as during the pandemic. Adding physical beds does very little without the personnel to staff them. It also won't improve wait times or other metrics, as the same number of staff may have to deal with 1000 more patients. Hire med staff

The letter carrier network could be repurposed into other useful services, such as senior wellness checks as has been done in other parts of the world. UPS etc isn't going to do that kind of thing, and will only increase prices with less competition. www.cupw.ca/en/campaign/...
