So, nearly 400 people have done our Ofsted Grade Confusion quiz
The average score is 3 out of 5 - meaning people are on average getting TWO wrong!
Question 3 (below) is causing particular problems - just 37% got it right!!
I only know one person so far who has got full marks …

School- term Holidays!!
Just give all parents/carers the right to take one week, just one week, at any time of the year except exam time - let the school decide on that - and much of the problem would disappear overnight.
The kids would not suffer one jot.

There's been a lot of talk about play recently in the #EarlyYears community especially given the @ofstednews.bsky.social quote that children's "hands and bodies are active, but their minds are not". Firstly, this is very obviously a misunderstanding of how play works based on poor observation. 🧵⬇️

I’ve been quiet on the subject of Ofsted recently, waiting for details to surface before commenting. So, we can see from TES and The Guardian that details have emerged about the ‘scorecard’ system set to replace the current inspection framework next September….

Yesterday attended a pets portrait workshop. First go with pastels and pretty chuffed with the outcome. Lovely session by @petportraitsbyanne even framed it for me.

Last day before back to that 4 letter word. So took the dogs for a play. First time Lara took herself in the water. Duggie always in but couldn’t lower himself completely.

Last week of my holidays, this year instead of mad cycling adventure ( rode TDf last year) I’ve been working hard on my golf. Couple of personal bests yesterday, may never be repeated but shot 77 and had my longest ever drive. Back to work,I’m sure I’ll see a slow decline but it’s been fun.
