This week is shaping up to be quite challenging. I've recently stepped into the role of Deputy Head, but our Headteacher has been signed off due to severe stress and anxiety.

I'm navigating uncharted territory and could use some guidance. What steps should I prioritise to support the school and staff effectively during this period? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

A revelation.

Too often, cinematic representations kill your idea of a novel, so I approached ‘100 Years of Solitude’ on Netflix with more than just apprehension. This for me is the finest novel ever written. Could it be filmed?

Have no fear! I watched episode 1. IT IS REMARKABLE!!!! Wow!! 👍

People with absolutely no experience of teaching a whole class of under 5s pontificating on how it should be done, writing about it and creating schemes of work they wouldn’t be able to implement. I’ve reached the far side of enough with that stuff.

If your time is too valuable, school leaders, to waste it on writing a SEF, let me do it for you. I’ll give you a persuasive centrepiece around which to build your inspection preparation, without any extra work for teaching and support staff.

Confidence is worth so much!

#lufc on the bandit country side of the Pennines today 😂😂. An away win would really set us up for the Christmas schedule. We’re a damn good team. Come on Leeds!!!

#Lufc dangerous every time we attack and great to watch. Let’s put this game to bed. So far it’s like a premiership side playing a decent Championship side.

Come on Leeds!!! 👍

A lunchtime game on TV for #lufc. We need to come back (again) with a win, after a defeat in midweek. No need to panic. We are a very good team!

Come on Leeds! 👍👍

Big footy tonight for Wales. Republic of Ireland vs Wales for a place in the Euros.

Only one team to support for this Englishman and lots of jeopardy in the outcome. Looking forward to it!
