Still amuses me it turns out Ursula K. Le Guin’s influence on all my work—fiction or otherwise—has little to do with the worlds she created & all with adding more goats & critical thinking. Didn’t really see this coming but journal Via Panoramica asked & here we are.

Much as I love seeing Maria Teresa Horta in the BBC's 2024 list of influential women, it also highlights how long it took Portugal to start recognising the literary powerhouse that's Maria Teresa Horta. We really do need to become better at valuing and promoting people other than the usual suspects.

Joked ChatGPT could come up with better names for a Portuguese LLM. Tested it. Got some basic stuff - Lusófono, Camões, Fado - and some slightly better ones - VerboAI, Linguix. But LusoMente takes the cake.
"sounds modern and fitting" You said it! Now someone teach you mente also means to tell lies.
