I find the playing golf between matches thing both baffling and ironic.

Golf gave us the phrase "the more I practice, the luckier I get" - and I'm pretty sure they weren't talking about practicing a completely different activity like jazz piano or horse archery.

Indeed.

And ironic as Golf gave us the phrase "the more I practice, the luckier I get" - and I'm pretty sure they weren't talking about practicing a completely different activity like jazz piano or horse archery.

It's not as if we haven't been here many times before watching players fail to adapt

We definitely need to go shopping for experienced centre halves in the January transfer window, just to allow fresh legs as part of the rotation. Abbott isn't there yet. Morato looks out of his depth too often.

That does sound about right.

I'm sure there will be a few scalps and a few slip-ups along the way.

As someone who has had an iPhone forced upon me, rather than through choice, I've developed a real dislike for the supposedly "intuitive" features - "just press the same button X times and then the screen will do this"..."oh, like the square button on Android?"...

I still won't feel entirely comfortable until we get up to around 45 points in the table.

What I like is that under Dyche and his team that target feels reasonably achievable.

At least Wood's injury was picked up between Tests - although it did seem inevitable that he would pick up an injury.

Maybe Jacks will end up opening the batting by the end of the series, and we'll have a whole new bowling attack?

The BBC political team has been going rotten for years now - whenever I watch Newcast it's like intruding on a meeting of a breathlessly excitable Young Conservatives group playing a game of "whataboutery".

Bit of a snub for Bashir.

Adding an all-rounder at number 8 is a bit of a sticking plaster approach to fixing the batting, which on the evidence of the 1st Test could be vastly improved by just learning when to leave the ball in Australian conditions.

Like a Brazilian Lothar Matthäus? (Ok, so it's an old reference but there haven't been that many players that can completely boss a football pitch like he did in his prime years).

Genuinely fascinating article, and very much at odds with a corporate culture that sees revenue growth as an imperative. Thanks for sharing.
