I’ve arrived at that point where I’ve either really started to work out what’s going on or I’ve gone mad 🤷🏼‍♂️

The Trump government is very quickly removing every means of challenging it or removing it. It’s got control of the military, homeland and international security and the judiciary. If Americans don’t move quickly to topple them, it will be too late.

Nina Simone, Ursula le Guin, Katherine Hepburn, Aretha Franklin, Toni Morrison, Ginger Rogers, Annie Proulx. These are American women that have a presence in my life. There are lots more. But then there’s this.

Trump and MAGA should take a look at what’s happening in Turkey right now. People get fed up with dictators eventually and it never ends well for them.

Is it just me? I’ve just heard a ‘respected’ economist being interviewed on the radio. He suggested that we should exploit the positive aspects of war because great tech can be developed. His example? ‘Look what the Ukrainians have done with drone technology’. Is it just me?🤷🏼‍♂️

We can’t do anything to change what’s happening in America. But we can influence what happens here in the UK and in Europe. We can’t passively accept Trump and his goons dictating what we do with our lives. We didn’t vote for him, that’s on the Americans.

You don’t have to be passive to be a good human being.

People are saying that this is the end of America. It isn’t. It’s the end of the America that MAGA voters wanted restored. The end of the American dream. This is a new America.

Cocky ex American ambassador to the EU saying that to have a trade agreement the EU and UK will have to lower their standards and accept American food products and American cars. Well, countries can make agreements but I’d never eat an American chicken or drive an American car. No disrespect.

Do I want to know the price of eggs in America? Nope!

I’m really tired of the insane shenanigans that’s going on in the US. We are saturated in Trump and Musk barminess. Can someone set up a Europe focussed social media platform with a selective translation facility so we can talk to our neighbours?

We need to be back in Europe Sir Starmer. Bite the bullet and stop fannying about. You know have to do it. You’ve still got four and a half years, just get in with it.

So, we don’t like being told what to do by the lily livered krauts n frogs. But we’ll jump to attention for a deranged American bully and his billionaire enabler. It really is a playground.

What are LBC thinking when they use a dreadful ghoul like Suella Braverman as a stand in for James OBrien? I’ve listened to her for five minutes and she’s already making excuses for slaughtering children. What’s wrong with her?

A bowl of soup a slice of toasted sourdough and a nice ripe pear. All is well again.

I don’t like Christmas! But every year when I attempt to disentangle myself from the whole dishonest, dopey, wasteful pantomime, my family adopt a collective visage of sadness and desperation. They get tired of it faster than I do because I’ve prepared myself for the reality and they haven’t.

I seem to have upset the Nigel Farage fan club - so let me be clear.

This man sows hate, lies and division.

He is a grifter and a conman.

He does not represent the vast majority of Britons.

Repost if you agree

P.s. multiculturalism is great.

The trouble in Britain is that we are a nation of forelock tuggers. We believe that the aristocracy and the rich are our ‘betters’ . An awful term that my grandmother used. Farage knows this and keeps his followers enthralled with his tweeds angry fancy bank accounts.

Merch has gone crazy, influencers, podcasters, Substackers, Blueskyers. I actually don’t buy clothes with anything written on them, it kinda spoils the fun of the game if people are showing their values on a baseball cap.

Hospices owned by private equity firms or publicly traded companies had significantly lower caregiver-reported quality scores compared to both non-profit and other for-profit hospices.

Like Trump, Brexit, the whole of populism it is just based on the anger at the things that are wrong. It's so easy to get disgruntled people on your bandwagon. Spend on targeted ads at specific grievances and the message that (Migrants, Muslims, Trans, Gays, Left, Science, Media) are to blame.
