We live in a funny world: just making the most of it, one day at a time. Tweeter. Liberaler. Quiddler. Un buveur d’encre. A recovering frog after slowly cooking in Musks cauldron for too long.
Would absolutely love stretching like this - anyone know where in London ?

Not snaps. Apple Maps 3D views give a reasonable look at the layout, tho finding the best spot for photos might take a little work. Screenshots in same order as listed. Sainsbury's carpark in 1st gives 1 view, plus the road just to left of it. For 2, the level crossing nr top maybe. ...

Because of the cost of the maps used, popular daily geo quiz app unzoomed is switching to a paid model on dec 1st, dropping the free ad supported use now in place.

Given what the tech co's do say they use AI for in Socials, it's infuriating that they subject us to crap ads like this - which have been doing rounds for quite a few years now. Fake claims. Yet they take the advertising revenue ('free speech' and 'the market'). Just annoying.

The British Library has a new exhibition 'Secret Maps' opening tomorrow (Friday). Judging by the bookshop - it'll be a geeks dream, a combination of maps and spy craft/warcraft. Looking forward to it 😍

Amazon is having a good start to the week. This is where we find out whether it has a single point of failure in its own services globally if part of the eastcoast is down. And find those companies that defaulted to that zone without picking anything-but-that-zone, like somewhere local.

Sometimes it doesnt feel like the world is listening to the climate change crisis. One graph for once actually shows the supertanker is turning: showing just how much the Paris agreement slammed on the brakes against growth. More to do, but that is dramatic.

The design of Apple’s Weather app is just a classic example of style over substance. Huge emphasis given to a nice graph of the chance of precipitation . But what matters most is quantity. 7mm total over many hours is peanuts. It’s anti british to be this logical with weather 😂

Someone should do a review of all of the Real Time Trains type sites across Europe. This one is for Norway.
Neat graphics, loads of info.

The new Google HQ is still under construction, tho the roof garden does seem to have a lot of trees now. Have to wonder if they’ll occupy it for longer than the many years it’s taken to build it, or if it’ll go the way of so many products like on killedbygoogle.com (its the building on left at back)
