Gamer, storyteller, coder, geek, nerd... oh, and middle-aged white guy, the source of all the world's evil. But I'm trying not to be!
#AEW question: if the Triangle of Madness is a 90s girl-music callback (Julia is Avril, Skyr is Xtina, and Tekla is Britney), then who is going to be their Pink? I would have said pre-Timeless Toni, but now I don’t know…

I’ve realized the reason big corps are embracing AI* is because AI* is very good at corp-speak and exec-speak. You ask it to summarize something, and it sounds like an email from someone two steps higher up the chain that you never interact with. They don’t realize how bad it is at other stuff.

“Now making his way to the ring, from The Mancave, weighing in at twenty to thirty pounds more than he probably should, it’s… Your Dad!”

A pro wrestler who always loses, but that’s okay, because failing is the first step of learning. He’s not mad you cheated… just disappointed. #gimmickideas

Anyone else’s #AEW feed messed up (mid-TBS title match)?

I’m seeing a trend here. Final Fantasy had their own TCG, before being a Magic set. Spider-Man was in Overpower and Vs. first. TMNT was in UniVersus. Star Trek had their own game. Magic: The Gathering’s Universes Beyond is just TCG sloppy seconds. @magic.wizards.com @universusccg.bsky.social

Reminder for those who seem to have forgotten: The best way to start an insurrection is to act like there's already one in progress where there isn't one. You reap what you sow.

If I have to watch another ‘Join ICE’ ad, I may just give up on @aewontv.bsky.social and @hbomax.bsky.social

So if McDonalds dropped the price of a Big Mac Meal to $8... how long have they been charging us three bucks more than they needed to?

It kinda says something that when Democrats get shot, it’s Republicans… and when Republicans get shot, it’s Republicans.

Trump says Russia, China, and Korea are 'conspiring against America'. As much as I hate all involved, I would love for one of them (Kim, preferably, but any of them) to respond with "It's called 'Diplomacy'. You might want to consider learning about it."

I think that the problem with Unreal Engine 5 is that, once you hit a certain level of 'looks like reality'... there's nowhere to go. Every game I've seen that uses it, the 'outside wilderness' seems almost exactly the same. Because... they're real. I miss when you could tell a game by it's trees.

I swear to Babbage, I'm not buying a new GPU until someone comes out with one and says "It's as strong as the best card from six years ago, but you can game for more than ten minutes without raising the room temperature by ten degrees."

Less power, less pixels, better thermal management, please.

Hot take: If you think Superman protecting civilians from an invading military is antisemitic, I’m not going to tell you you’re wrong — I’m just going to tell you that Superman (and his creators and writers) would be very disappointed in you.

Just saw an ad for a game saying "Turn-based tactics meets Warhammer 40,000." Like, do people not know what Warhammer 40,000 -started- as? It was turn-based tactics on a tabletop before 'turn-based tactics' ever really existed as a videogame genre. I swear, some people just don't know their history.

Health Insurance Companies should be forced to publish a count of all policyholders who have had a claim denied in the last twelve months who have also died in the last month.

I think Monster Train 2 just gave me the biggest “Oh, F*CK YEAH” moment I’ve had in a game in a long time. But then, I loved the original, so adding more story onto it was pretty much a no-fail idea.

Remember, when people say ‘AI’, they don’t mean the computer from Star Trek, they’re talking about a bigger version of that thing everyone thought was cool when your phone could predict the next word of the text you’re sending so you didn’t have to type it all — just for the whole Internet’s texts.

Went to see A Taste Of Ireland.
Wife: "Everyone in this show has a great butt and legs."
Me: "Well, yeah. For them, every day is leg day."

Realization: The same people who refuse to call a transwoman a woman are usually the same people who say "Well, they call themselves the N-word, why can't I call them that?"

At some point, the people running things started being more worried about what was legal than what was ethical, moral, or right. That's when it all went downhill.

I was a bathtub big enough to sleep in. Which is strange, because I don’t want a constantly-wet bed.

Hey, @microsoft.com if you really want to make my account secure, letting me check a "Reject logins from outside the United States" setting somewhere would go a long way towards doing that. That'll cut out 80% of the failed attempts to log in to my account.

I would like to remind everyone that in Mass Effect a lot of people who should have listened about the Reapers did show up to the final battle even though they were idiots earlier

Just something to think about

My wife likes to watch dashcam compilation videos. Near-misses, bad drivers, etc. She's recently started watching compilations of bad F1 racing pit stop incidents. I joke that she's finally gone pro.

I love this woman.

Can I -please- have a movie where Jason Statham and Idris Elba play rival hitmen who team up against the real evil guy in the climax? (It's worth a shot -- last time I tried this, they made Bandidas a year later, so what the hell...)
