I wrote a bit about why I decided to leave Twitter.

I don't think there should be anything surprising here but it's helpful to remember that we have control over the services we use. We don't have to use something that is making us unhealthy.

Why I Left Twitter
It’s safe to say that Twitter has changed a lot from when I first started using it. When I first started using Twitter in 2008 it felt like an amazing tool for connecting with new people. Twitter made...

haveibeenpwned.com is pretty brazen here. I mean, the second you put a password in this input it's burned anyway so what's the point of checking it?

This is funny because, if anything, I want Copilot to be subject to *more* rules before merging its code.

Turns out you can communicate across containers via 63-bits of available space in a shared lock you acquire on /proc/self/ns/time that all processes have access to.

No networking required. The post has a demo of a chat app communicating across unprivileged containers.

I'm not sure what Turing test folks use when talking to LLMs but they are instantly recognisable as machines to me. Not the least reason being that they can't give responses less than 200 words.

It really sounds like they thought "people will switch because we are big-company Amazon" when it's more like "users will only use Amazon products if there is absolutely no viable alternative".
I legitimately didn't know they were competing with Steam and it's crazy to me that they burnt so much money on what sounds like something with very little (or wildly misguided) market research.

I don't buy the AI narrative around prosperity for all. There is plenty of money to go around yet it tends to flow to the top. I can't imagine a world where those in control of AI, assuming it actually works, will resist charging an ever increasing subscription fee cementing the haves and have nots.
