A stat I like to remind people of (very gently) is that 70% of asylum seekers who came to the uk in the last 20 years come from countries we once colonised.

What would actually provide a sense of control would be to REGULATE the exisiting immigration that currently takes place in utter chaos run by smugglers because our politicians keep pretending that "smash the gangs" or "stop the boats" will get us anywhere.

We can regulate it through safe pathways.

In fact, one year of crossings down, another year up, one quarter where this route sees more traffic & another where that one does is ultimately details.
