That one was spectacular - I went twice :)

I'm usually pretty blasé about art in galleries; the Mona Lisa left me cold, and I had the room to myself for about a minute (different story there!). However, seeing the Escher and Harryhausen exhibitions was a big thing, prolly because I've been into them for years :)

It was incredible - all his personal papers over from Switzerland, along with works in progress and the like. Wee plasticine models of the rolling beasties from House of Stairs!

After being obsessed with the books since I was about twelve, it was amazing to see the originals :)

I think I've got all (or most) of Escher's work spread over a few books (Some of my favourites are missing from the gallery...)

I took my son to the exhibit in Embra a few years and showed him all the tricks in Belvedere, and he had to sit down for a bit :)

I was an IT contractor at the time, and on looking, there was no way I could have claimed. Now, as a self employed magician, there's >no< way I could claim.

I suppose one way would be to insure your hands against injury, but again...

But your conditions might be different. If you do talk to someone, make sure that they are >crystal< clear about what is needed for a claim...
November 13, 2025 at 8:08 PM
Nope. I looked into it years ago; as a self employed person (or contractor) you will never meet the requirements to claim.

They've known all of this since before his 1st term; the Access Hollywood tape, many videos of Trump with Epstein, Trump admitting that he walks through the changing room of the Ms America pageant while women were half naked. They don't care. (I've seen interviews with people saying 'I don't care'.

Why is he saluting with his left hand? It's almost as if he doesn't know what he's doing...

Nope. Real name.

You misspelled 'films'...

Related; I read about a class that was given LOTR as an essay subject. They all watched the Trilogy, and the question was about Tom Bombadil...

Playing a lot of Scrabble helps, too :)
November 2, 2025 at 5:22 PM
Also, I played all through the archive when it was available, so apart from a handful of games where I was out of the country and offline, I've played a >lot< of wordle :)

So far, only lost three games...
November 2, 2025 at 5:21 PM
Nope. I have a solid start word, and then several second words based on the first results. There was very little guesswork on that one :)

I'm halfway through Resurrection of Evil, then I'll do the Lost Mission on the BFG edition, and then Phobos.

I got these games a lifetime ago, but couldn't get into it. Now really enjoying them.

The annoying thing is I got D3BFG from Steam, and despite linking accounts, can't get the GOG mod...

With the worst ending of anything I've seen in recent - or even ancient - memory. Huge disappointment.
