I guess I was wrong a year ago when I tried to call it. They didn't even bother finishing the federation bit and decided to implement just enough to suck it dry.

Color me shocked.

Sigh. Those were the days. Personal computing was a whole new world and BYTE was my gateway to it.

Thanks for the link and thanks for all your articles in BYTE. They were always some of the most thought provoking and made my head buzz with ideas and possibilities.

Trump should slap a tariff on them, send I'm the marines to defend democracy, then be totally surprised when it turns out he can't pardon him.

It's the fiftieth anniversary of the movie of the same name on the 4th of June next year. Was it a coincidence you posted on the 4th June?

I thought that I was relatively safe from this insanity in Australia, but our opposition coalition is polling to win the election in a matter of weeks.

Their leader seems to think Trump is a reasonable chap and that we should follow his lead on government spending, bureaucracy and […]

The same glimmer of hope when BlueSky emerged. It evaporated about as quickly after I read some analysis of the underlying structure.

Oo. They're going to stir in some AI ! Of course they are.

Because there are no journalists left.

Of course there are plenty of good people who will present the truth, but they’re scattered and disorganized and don’t have the reach of Big “Journalism”.

The major news outlets are driven by the bottom line and their only duty is to make […]

Ah, yes. Infuriating.

Which desktop is that image? I can't get large thumbnails on Mint or 22.04 file dialogs at all (other than clicking on them to show the image at the right).
