Horror has paid the bills in Hollywood for decades. Cheap to make, reliable return. But has been historically looked down on. I disagree, but some have argued that [pure] horror exists in the same space as melodrama or porn—evoking a physical rather than intellectual response from the audience.

The lack of quotes—the unwillingness to let Kirk speak for himself—is particularly revealing.

I can think of no greater indictment of Charlie Kirk’s character than the fact that all his friends and colleagues seem to desperately want us to mourn him, but do not want us to remember him.

I find it so funny that these guys who post about “trad” aesthetics only ever seem to wear tight fitting t-shirts, while if you see someone out and about in old-timey period clothing, 80% chance they’re some flavor of queer nerd with a cool hobby.

And just as you pointed out that there’s more than just getting his ass kicked, it isn’t just about the winning. Having to Win Actually is a source of drama—having to kill an enemy, having to rely on reformed bad-guy help, or dealing with massive collateral damage and personal loss.

Good point, that does happen with Battle Beast & Omni-Man in S1, Kreig & Anissa in S2, but does that happen in season 3? I think part of the reason why I liked 3 so much is the lack of training wheels, our hero is forced to actually Win a Fight once in a while.
