That is always an interesting alarm clock… quite a shake here in Sidney 🇨🇦 at 05:02 PT. M4.6 near Orcas Island, 45 km ENE from Victoria and 70 km from Vancouver.
Felt all across southwest BC and northwest WA.

Well it seems I have a concussion, surprising to me given my tendency to lean into adrenaline, this was a close call. Its not lost on me how close. It was while climbing up a favourite trail & I suddenly found myself flying backwards & stopping rather quickly. Be safe out there friends. I am okay 🤙🏽

Checking out an ancient fish trap in the Cowichan Bay Estuary, historically this area was also a site of significant camis gardens, these Indigenous tubers were not only tolerant of the brackish waters but also a commercial product sold to passing ships.

The Ecole Polytechnique massacre 35 years ago today, was a act of cowardice & femicide that took the lives of 14 women.

On this National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women, we honour & remember these courageous women, their dreams, and their legacies.
