It’s #internationalcatday and since my little daughter loves cats, plenty of them show up regularly in my sketchbooks. Here are some recent ones 😊

It's great to switch tools every now and then. It helps reset your working habits and see things from a slightly different perspective. You can always return to your favourite tools, of course, but there's also a good chance you might find some new favourites. Neocolor 2 pastels & Pith sketchbook.

“You are taught to talk, read and write, but no one seems to teach you how to perceive. […] You don’t really see something unless you draw it, or at least unless you mentally draw it. It makes you look at things.” — Alan Fletcher

Great to write about Alan's sketchbooks

Alan Fletcher's sketchbooks, a never-ending source of inspiration. I was invited to write about Alan's sketchbooks and how they've inspired my own practice. — Sign up to the newsletter for insights into Alan’s work including some rare and unseen works and personal anecdotes.

I've been using a Tip Ton chair for 10 years now. It's designed by Barber & Osgerby and very comfortable, better than almost all “ergonomic” chairs I've tried in big agency offices. I bought it from WellWorking, a bit cheaper than from Vitra.

It’s #NationalIllustrationDay2024! 🎉 Here's a sketchbook sneak peek, #wip for a picture book inspired by a very personal story.

The wonderful Quentin Blake Centre for Illustration is behind the initiative, check them out.

And stay tuned for more details about my book 🐥🐓😉

Makind hand-drawn labels and having a glass of delicious red Romanian wine — “vinul lui tata” means “dad’s wine” — good way to spend a Sunday afternoon

I always carry a sketchbook with me plus a handful of pens, all held by a watch strap. Any few minutes to spare, I try to spend them drawing rather than staring at my phone.

This is my post for the Sketchbook Gallery, many lovely sketchbooks here sketchbook-gallery.notion.site/Sketchbook-G...

“Next time is next time, now is now.” — still thinking about this line from Wim Wender's mesmerizing film, Perfect Days. It's such a great tribute to looking for beauty in the seemingly unexciting daily events.

It was such a pleasure to be a part of the #Secret7 exhibition at #NowGallery again! This year it was presented by #WarChildUK who support children from zones of conflict.

My artwork was a response to Paul McCartney's ‘Pipes of Peace’. Many thanks to everyone involved! 🙏

Great to see Calais Zagarow Schroeder’s new book “A Life In Between”, published by Parea Books — I had the pleasure of drawing the lettering for the cover (watercolour illustration by Olga Crée). Thanks very much to Frances Baca for the art direction.

So great to see the cover I made for the Secret 7“ exhibition (at NOW Gallery, March 2-17). You can bid on your favourites from today by joining Peggy. All money raised will support War Child's work in conflict zones around the world.

Pocket sketchbook spreads — Writing down a few reminders for myself. Lately I've been busy w all sorts, losing sight of what matters. Fortunately @theillustratorsguide's recent video about social media use helped — thanks James! 🙏 Last spread is unrelated, a note about always buying the original 😅

Pocket sketchbook spreads — recent breakfast drawings. Trying to capture the same “mundane” things in different, interesting ways is a great exercise.

Pocket sketchbook spreads — recent drawings about admiring trees and their wonderful autumn colours while riding into town. Such a joy to take the quiet cycle lanes, looking around for yet another undiscovered street.

Pocket sketchbook spreads — very recent drawings about neighbourhood views, pots and plants, leaves turning yellow. It always brings me joy when I find an interesting perspective on a “boring” urban view.

I always enjoy drawing pencils in my sketchbook, but funnily enough, I rarely draw with pencils — I prefer pens, brush pens and mechanical pencils 🤓✏️✒️

Hey Brian, here are a few hand-lettering pieces I've done. First two were for WeTransfer's WePresent magazine, the plates and the short film title cover for self-initiated projects.

It was great to chat with Marie-Emilienne (the founder of I AM Patterns) about our recent collaboration, and about my projects and sources of inspiration — you can read the interview on the I AM Patterns website here: iampatterns.fr/en/interview...

New work — One of the visuals I had the pleasure of drawing for the new I AM Patterns collection, I AM Relaxed. What can be more relaxing than lying down in a meadow full of flowers?

New work — One of the visuals I had the pleasure of drawing for the new I AM Patterns collection, I AM Relaxed. Among the flowers, there's a small reference to one very popular Ghibli film, can you find it? :)

I think best on paper, so all my projects start in my sketchbooks — here are some early sketches for the floral pattern designs I created for the I AM Patterns collection launched last week (stay tuned for more images)

Happy International Coffee Day! ☕️🎉 Here are some recent sketchbook spreads done during breakfast, featuring the ever present glass of fine coffee. I've been an AeroPress convert for several years now :) Drawn using Pentel Pocket brush pens on Hahnemuhle Travel Journal.
