(2) You can 'play' the observations to see how fast the rain is approaching, and from which direction. It's the best way I've found of anticipating rain for the next 10-60 minutes. (Screenshot in above post shows radar map of London area's actual precipitation about 30 mins ago.)

Yes, on both counts. I was so sad to hear of his passing today. And his performance in Brass was outstanding. Two series, forty years ago, but it still comes into my mind every few months, for one reason or another.

Yes, I've just arrived, and it's a great way to procrastinate by reading lots of interesting people -- rather than, you know... actually redrafting a short story... (to pick an example at random...)
