Yes. In the UK with just a handful of exceptions everything is handled by local forces under the mantra of policing by consent. Everyone decent here on these Isles I am sure are thinking of you and wishing for MAGA in DC to come to its senses.

USA: biggest conundrum I've ever known. Societally, country is now broken; internationally reviled; feels unsafe to walk on your streets & the poverty felt by so many, crushing. Let's not even mention health care.
