What @radiofreetom.bsky.social noted

Use the tools you have to push back against pillockery because that is very much an option as seen in the last round of elections.

I know what I am going to do.

And yes, having lived in places that are authoritarian - those places are much much worse.
My mistake has been trying to explain what "fascism" is to people who don't care what it is.

So I'm going to try something else. Let's do this as a practical thought exercise.

If America *were* fascist *today* - what would you have to do differently in your daily life? /1

A reminder, sometimes it is wise to look a gift horse in the mouth.

Also, getting rid of unnecessary tariffs is really the only solution.

What to know about Trump's plan to give Americans a $2,000 tariff dividend
President Donald Trump boasts that his tariffs protect American industries, lure factories to the United States, raise money for the federal government and give him diplomatic leverage.

One of the roles of government is to help those in need. SNAP benefits are a vital lifeline for many. This administration has made a choice-one that is designed to harm those who are among the most vulnerable.

There are contingency funds

This is deliberate and cruel.

Two of my dogs are blocks, only one is aerodynamic
Most potential pet owners consider things like breeding, size, coat, intelligence, trainability, and temperament. Often overlooked is the crucially important element of aerodynamics, which can greatly affect your gas mileage, raising the overall cost of ownership significantly.

Life may not be fair in a lot of ways, but accepting status quo isn't something rendered (a) fait accompli.

We can make it fairer, and by doing that, show others they can whilst giving them a hand up.
A shout out to people who grew up refusing to accept "life isn't fair" from people who damn well had the power to make it fair and refused to use it.

May we be the adults we needed.

If your state has elections - vote. Your vote matters.

Vote for your nation, your state, your community, your friends, your family, and yourself.

You matter.

When you are AG, use your position wisely.

This is not wise.

The government shutdown is a result of a failure to negotiate and putting petty partisan politics over the needs of the Nation’s People.

It’s using federal employees and those dependent on the government as pawns.

Do the People’s business or the voters will remember.

A reminder that extrajudicial killings are illegal.

International and national laws are still a thing
Trump: "I don't think we're necessarily going to ask for a declaration of war, I think we're just gonna kill people that are bringing drugs into our country. We're going to kill them. They're going to be, like dead."
