Formerly history teacher and then history teacher educator. Now paid by govt to walk a dog.
Obviously AI generated but likely using the Norman Rockwell images designed to illustrate Allied war aims. To unite and inspire in a common purpose. The Rockwell images were overwhelmingly European but his images from Civil Rights era are important.

I’m familiar with Black Rock Sands nr Porthmadog and it seems that the value of the cars is in inverse proportion to the intelligence of their owners.

Autumn in #Wharfedale, a few miles away in Skipton mist all day. On the #DalesWay and over #Grassington Moor, blue skies and warm sun all day.
Walking away from the relative crowds into a very quiet Mossdale. The curlew, lapwings and larks of spring replaced with an occasional & distant grouse.

I also hope that the delegates will be more humble than the last time they visited Manchester. One of my favourite eating places round corner from Conf Centre commented on their arrogant, boorish & privileged behaviour. I also resent fact that the obscure Peterloo Memorial during their Conference

Add the Honk-Kong Chinese conductor - such a dynamic leader of the orchestra, the British-Nigerian tenor who sang the solo in Bohemian Rhapsody not forgetting the French mezzo. And the orchestra and the choirs who more properly represent the country I live in & many nationals enjoying singing along

Elon MuSSk, financial backer of the British Nazi Party. He’s not the kind of ignorant racist fuck wit we want interfering in British politics at the moment. Know what this photo reminds me of

And lots of Icelanders in closing credits.
Wonder if this is going to be the C11th version of the Tudors. Remember the Tudors…..

It’s all just a spontaneous upwelling of love for our country, isn’t it?

The man who also refused to put up a flag outside his house.
Clearly he was not a patriot.
Clearly he was a traitor.
What worries me about all this rabid stupidity is that it might not be long before those of us who refuse to fly the flag will be marked down as unpatriotic.

This from Fortune Magazine.
There’s no significance to which Presidents made it onto the wall, it’s down to the amount of gold on the frame.

James I reign proved to be pivotal, Pendle witches early in reign partly a diversion from Catholic elites in Lancashire.
End of his reign trial of witness in original trial dismissed as superstition. Argued discoveries of Harvey ushered in more scientific outlook. This a good x cultural study

Well worth a detour is the memorial in the Church at Stiffkey. Can’t remember the maker but it was closely associated with the notorious Harold Davidson, Rector of Stiffkey who met his unfortunate end in a lion’s cage in Skegness.
If that doesn’t arouse your curiosity…….

Now where have I come across these kind of attitudes before, oh yes in Der Sturmer. If he’s speaking for Reform wonder how long it will be before the equivalent kind of images start appearing in Reform publications.

@arthurjchapman.bsky.social How about this for an ethical evidential dilemma? Posted these images on local FB page with this comment: ‘Re-cabling Winter Hill mast, don’t think they’ve got the tension right yet’. Lots of views, few wry comments, some explanations.
Everyone accepts photo is reality.

I know your specialism is trade policy but given your historic family connections to Lancs County Council I wonder if you had any thoughts on these claims by Reform now in charge of Lancashire CC.
I’d assumed that LAs were limited as to where & what the could invest.
