Formerly history teacher and then history teacher educator. Now paid by govt to walk a dog.
A comparative study in power; what do the images of US Presidents in the Oval Office Study reveal about the nature of the President of the United States?

Autumn in #Wharfedale, a few miles away in Skipton mist all day. On the #DalesWay and over #Grassington Moor, blue skies and warm sun all day.
Walking away from the relative crowds into a very quiet Mossdale. The curlew, lapwings and larks of spring replaced with an occasional & distant grouse.

What a powerful farewell.
Dr. Jane Goodall filmed an interview with Netflix in March 2025 that she understood would only be released after her death.

@arthurjchapman.bsky.social How about this for an ethical evidential dilemma? Posted these images on local FB page with this comment: ‘Re-cabling Winter Hill mast, don’t think they’ve got the tension right yet’. Lots of views, few wry comments, some explanations.
Everyone accepts photo is reality.

@1972shp.bsky.social noticed in July 1 of workshops was on Independence and Partition. Just read fascinating ch in @willdalrymple.bsky.social Age of Kali about Hyderabad and its ‘war’ with India in 1947. Real insight into nature of Princely States pre 1947. And all oral history.

I know your specialism is trade policy but given your historic family connections to Lancs County Council I wonder if you had any thoughts on these claims by Reform now in charge of Lancashire CC.
I’d assumed that LAs were limited as to where & what the could invest.

Looking at how badly that tent is pitched I know my former Scout leader wouldn’t have let that go. So I’d have to go with Garden Birds.
Disappointed there’s no Adventures from History or the probably now politically incorrect Flight 1-6 to Oz, US, Canada, India, Africa & Israel
You can only pick one.
Which one?

🧵Posted yesterday that Melania knew Epstein before she knew Trump.

This is Paolo Zampolli, her former escort agent & good friend of Epstein & Trump.

He's the one who took Melania to Ghislaine's party where she met Trump.

He's also the one who secured her Einstein visa

All the dirty details below

Rivington Pike, West Pennine Moors, early morning 21 June.
Already warm, but nice strong breeze. I like the texture in the moorland that the B&W images seem to emphasise; the longer shadows of early morning seem to help as well.

I remember when new OS 1:50000 series 1st came out and there were concerns about the lack of clarity between paths and boundaries. In particular one boundary/path that headed NW from the summit of Carnedd Dafydd straight over Ysgolion Duon.

Came across this slate headstone in the small churchyard at Ynys near Harlech. The exceptionally fine detail on the edge and below the palm is remarkable. The patterned incised lines are impressive. Slate being a softer rock can possibly take fine detail unlike sandstone or granite
