At the age of 64 I've concluded that it's too late to save the planet. Capitalism is the problem, but there is no alternative. However, I do think that eventually capitalism will eat itself, but long after I have gone. I'm pleased that I decided not to have kids as the future is not very bright😕

I knew that the assembly recommended the re-opening of the airport. I also noted that the Y&H climate action plan didn't mention air travel. After years of anxiety about keeping my air travel low, I've given up as it appears to me that most people just don't care. I'm glad I chose not to have kids.

Parkwood Springs is a lovely place and some development is very welcome, but why a new road? The history of new or wider roads is more cars and congestion. Even as it is there is lots to see & do, from biking, birdwatching & walking. It's still possible to ski there as I witnessed recently 🤓

A glaciologist at the KMF basically said 'go see the melting glaciers before they completely disappear'. While I know lots of people are very concerned about CC, I also see lots of people not bothering to change their behaviour.

I was at the Kendal Mountain Festival over the w/e. Climate change got occasional mention, mainly about melting glaciers. Yet many mountain people are still frequently flying around to go climbing. Have decided I will no longer worry about my carbon footprint as it appears to me a pointless concern.
