Mohammad Ayuf, a former detainee of the Arakan Army (AA), escaped after surviving a military airstrike with three other villagers from Maungdaw Township. However, 17 of his fellow villagers, along with hundreds of others, remain detained by the AA.

The group had departed on Nov 1, 2024.

Out of the 180 passengers, 174 Rohingya died, leaving only 6 survivors (4 men & 2 women). The survivors were rescued by a foreign ship, handed over to the Myanmar Navy, and then transferred to a police station before being admitted to a hospital. — end/
