Re: selling public lands. What if we call on companies like Subaru the forever trusted car for adventures to make a stand on this? We don’t go on any adventure without riding in a Subaru or seeing 5 others. Thoughts??

I wonder if an organization who is adopting AI (such as a medical center) is considering their environmental impact. We know how much energy it takes to use AI, to run the machines, cool the machines. Will we use computers less because of AI which will make the trade-off worth it?

Researching on my Hinesburg’s politics and its make-up of white older men running and winning office. How do we get 40 year old women in office? Change Selectboard times to not interfere with bedtime? Provide a living wage+insurance for working at the state level? vtdigger.org/2022/10/06/c...
Christina Deeley: Opening up politics to all - VTDigger
I would implore selectboards to spend some time looking at their makeup and the makeup of town committees.

Fundraising is so hard!
I called people in my circle the other day and saying the word, “money” and my face twitches. I had an acquaintance say no and I cried. Anyone have any thoughts on this?! I was fundraising for our cohort’s tuition for Emerge, learning how to electing women into office

How do we get out of our own way?! We want high-speed rail but make it so hard. We want it to be a walkable town but don’t want to build sidewalks…. www.nytimes.com/2025/03/09/o...
Opinion | There Is a Liberal Answer to Elon Musk (Gift Article)
Right-wing populism thrives on scarcity. The answer is abundance. But a politics of abundance will work only if Democrats confront where their approach has failed.

Today in the Emerge training we learned about how to calculate votes needed to win. My brain hurts with the math but it is really cool to learn the art and science behind winning an election!

Hinesburg voted down to allowing a marijuana shop in town yesterday on our ballot. By 6 votes! Wow

So proud of Allie! She worked so hard for this campaign and never once wavered from the “why” behind running. Burlington is so lucky to have her
Thank you, Burlington voters.

I’ve used libro for about 2 years for my audio books!! Love supporting a bookstore that I used to go to in Seattle and NOT supporting Audible (owned by Amazon)
You don't have to read a certain way to be a reader 💓

(But if you like supporting indie bookshops and reading audiobooks, we're here to help!)

It’s town meeting day tomorrow in VT!! In my town, we shifted to Australian ballot so I turned in my ballot today. So excited for all of those who are running for their local elections. 👏👏for taking the leap and running

Right now Becca, Bernie and Peter are doing a town hall, they are answering live calls. I don’t know how to attach a link, go to her website

What a success! Last night at our informational meeting in lieu of town meeting day, we had great engagement. I arranged childcare on-site and dinner. More to come on being an educated voter!

At our hearing today on the OMB memo lawsuit, the judge said he was inclined to agree with our argument that the funding freeze should be blocked. Here’s an explanation in two parts.

I think my new goal is to create content for our upcoming local election (March 4th) and call it: Why Your Vote Matters: An Underwhelming Explanation of Your Ballot.

I went door knocking with Allie who is running for East District City Council in Burlington. Did you know? Unhoused folks can register and vote on March 4th at Fletcher Free Library, and will be asked, “where do you spend the most time?” To determine which district to vote in!

Like most of my friends, it’s been an unsettling and angering couple of days. I’m going to focus on my immediate community. How can we be more connected? How can we share ideas? Starting with town meeting day, I plan on helping make meals and get babysitters.

Yesterday @sanders.senate.gov did what he does best- making things happen. His goal was to get kids off of screens and do something active. At a very low key, minimally organized event, he did a free throw contest with a bunch of kids. Go Bernie!

How can my community can be more engaged on town meeting day. 3 goals:
1) create more palatable information to make an informed decision (budgets, zoning laws, etc.)
2) make Town Meeting Day more accessible (babysitters on-site provide dinner)
3) People feel heard and that their voice matters
