As a former Tesla and now ID4 driver, I can see why CarPlay is the best of a crap software situation. But man, could I go the rest of my life without it.

@davidimel.com battery scientist just listening to your Samsung episode and I can confirm that silicon carbon batteries aren’t quite at the lifespan of other others. Highly dependent on the silicon content and operating conditions, of course

Dang, the amount of damage Microsoft has done to the game industry over the years is just unhinged.

The greed and hubris to buy up studios only to shutter them and the projects that people worked years on is beyond me.

@mark-carney.bsky.social There goes any credibility or leverage we had as a negotiator. Pretty disappointing.

Truly hoping that the most embarrassing thing I will ever do in my life is purchase a Tesla. #onlyupfromhere

Seeing the Command and Conquer source code, I have to assume this is what most people think of when they complain about C++. I mean damn, I really appreciate Unreal’s source code now - it kinda fucks. #gamedev #unrealengine

I’m curious how soon/far into development people knew the title of their game. Was it a eureka moment or was it something that took a lot of workshopping and brainstorming? I feel like I have a dozen ideas, some work as acronyms, but that feels like too much hubris #gamedev

Is anyone else irrationally drawn to the underdog option? I don’t know if it’s a desire to succeed in the face of adversity or subconsciously distracting myself from making the thing. Like, I could use Unreal’s ability system, OR I could hobble together my own in Godot 🤔 #gamedev

I love my American friends, and I apologize in advance that you may find out just how petty Canadians get when they feel an injustice has occurred.

Apparently Trump feels that Canadians would have much better health coverage if we joined the US. I mean no offence to my American friends, but how the fuck do you figure?

Still not sure how serious Trump is over his Canada remakes. One thing I am certain about is that if he didn’t dodge the draft, he might know that Canadian’s get real wild in times of war.

There’s a lot of talk about EV depreciation, but nothing is gonna tank the resale value of my Tesla like the fucking magnitude of Goldfish embedded in this thing.

Because you were probably wondering, I’ve done the calculations to save some time:

It would cost approx. $48k per month to feed Clifford the big red dog.

@mipstian.bsky.social trying to decipher the spinning code in Wipr2. I think it’s ”IPR2W”, as in I pull request to win?

Do people just go used guitar shopping when they’re drunk? I get dozens of “is this still available?” at like 11pm and then ghosted the next day after I respond.

I own a Model Y but I had to drive my wife’s Mazda 3 for a few days and unexpectedly enjoyed it. Not because of the gas engine, but the manual interaction. I had to turn on the lights and the wipers, and actually use the car.

Sometimes a two-year-old wakes up blind with rage, and other days they bark at you. Never a dull moment.

I’ll know @bsky.app hits true mainstream when my wife asks me what it is. I’ve deliberately not told her because it was hard enough to explain what threads was.

I tried to dive into Unreal Engine yesterday as a total newbie, but the starter files on their beginner courses aren’t even compatible with 5.5. Like, don’t you want people to use your shit?
