I would say UAE is dimming Pogi's light by forcing him to ride TdF which he hates. And I wish there was room for him to say no to it. For his sake. Also for the spirit of the sport.
It's not criticism of Pogo, but of the pressure he isn't allowed to say no to.

Say things like "Unfortunately I'm stuck with the tour every year" in public and it's no longer professionalism. He so obviously doesn't want to be there. Compare to his other races where he's excited. I don't want this to be a discussion about "doing a job". It's about the spirit of the sport.

It really is. I also dislike the "I'm paid to do a job" rhetoric. It should be an honour to be chosen to ride TdF, shouldn't it? A magical journey most riders can only dream of.

I have not. I really want to try it, though. I just haven't had any success finding a copy to buy anywhere. But it's on the list if ever I'm lucky to find it.
