Writing my dissertation and YouTube channel on games from 2020-2023, I grew to only play games for work. I took a long break from gaming after finishing the diss and am only now remembering how to play for just fun. Consuming media for a job can be a real head trip.

[I have an old desktop PC that can handle PC exclusives tho, so I'm not the best representation of this demographic]

Like no offense, but it's a fucking nightmare just existing as a trans person. It wasn't anywhere near as bad back in the mid 2010s.

I remember you, come along with me, and escape the citadel always make me cry huge tears (for very different reasons tho).
my favorite "kind" of episode is the surreal concept, like jake the brick, ghost fly, james baxter, hall of egress, puhoy, etc. Prefer those usually to the big narrative ones

not trying to call you out! Whatever crest you like is fine, but I do wonder if, for instance, picking a crest with a long range so you don't have to learn spacing might inhibit your ability to follow the game's natural difficulty curve.

I should have qualified what I meant by "wrong choice," which meant: "wrong choice if you want to progress your skills along the game's natural difficulty curve."
Of course nothing inherently wrong with relying on certain items, like you said, risk of them becoming a crutch (whose useful runs out)

I'm glad there are those choices and have no problem with them, but I think if you play a game like this with a mentality of "I need to search out the easiest, most passive, way to beat this boss" resulting in some cheesy strategy, you end up making the next difficult thing harder on yourself.
