Idea: take an image of the cover of a book and automatically add it to your request list at your local library.

Noticing my existing workflow is take a picture at a bookstore, then manually hunt for it in my library system, but doing this for 10+ books is slow and tedious. Would love to automate.

From a price-to-usage standpoint, I’ve definitely gotten my monies worth from my AirPods Pro (gen 1). I bought them early 2020 and can’t remember a day since that I haven’t used them. Undoubtedly my favorite Apple product.

@support.bsky.team @bsky.app one of my favorite (now defunct) apps Apollo had this amazing feature where if you accidentally tapped the top header of the app and ended up scrolling back to the top of your feed, you could triple tap the header and it would scroll you back to where you were. Plz do!

“…median home prices up 52% compared to May 2019, while wages gained 30% over that period”

And that wage increase is likely spurred in only certain industries. It’s brutal out there.

New research from the University of South Australia indicates that remote work leads to happier employees.

Unfortunately for workers, caring about employee happiness was a zero interest rate phenomenon.

No amount of data will change companies wanting RTO so workers can be more easily micromanaged.
Scientists have studied remote work for 4 years and have reached a clear conclusion: working from home makes us happier - Caring Minds United

At what point do people stop believing the BS they have been fed by those whole regime?
Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is ousting all members of a key CDC vaccination advisory committee and replacing them with his own picks.

The move appears to contradict a pledge he made during his confirmation process.
RFK Jr. ousts all members of CDC vaccine advisory panel
Kennedy said the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices, a group of experts who recommend vaccines, has been "plagued with persistent conflicts of interest."

I’m surprised it took Apple this long to make this shift (if true). Nvidia has had a ton of success with this approach, bring the flagship out first, then trickling out down the stack.

Learning that the makeup and prosthetics artist who did The Rock’s makeup here, also did Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s in Looper makes so much sense. I remember seeing the trailer for Looper for the first time and going “hey, is that…?” while also being unsure. Quite a gift!

This is incredibly short sighted and ignores the fact that AI, robotics, and automation are targeting these kinds of jobs.
Lutnick: "It's time to train people not to do the jobs of the past, but to do the great jobs of the future. This is the new model where you work in these kinds of plants for the rest of your life and your kids work here and your grandkids work here. We let the auto plants go overseas."

What is even the point of these cabinet meetings? I'm sure that they excuse the press eventually, but these only seem like meetings intended to fondle the balls of the president and spout off some BS claims using fake, made up statistics...
Bondi: "President, you first 100 days has far exceeded that of ANY other presidency in this country. Ever. Ever. Never seen anything like it. Thank you."
April 30, 2025 at 5:03 PM
This whole thing feels like a manufactured attempt to shift the narrative back in their favor, but they continue to ignore that the constitution exists.

Even the way Bondi describes the details—it’s very made for TV.
The Attorney General is so unserious.

If you’re a prosecutor who is serious about obtaining a conviction, you don’t go on Fox and talk about the (alleged) facts of the case like this.

Has Bondi read the Justice Manual? Has Bondi heard of pretrial publicity motions? How about bar ethics rules?

THEY HAVE DEPORTED A TWO YEAR OLD CHILD BIRTHRIGHT CITIZEN

This is why I have no patience anymore for people playing games with this stuff.
NEW: A federal judge raised alarm Friday that the Trump administration appeared to have deported a 2-year-old U.S. citizen to Honduras with "no meaningful process" — even as her father was fighting to keep her in the country.
