i’m just so fucking tired of living through crisis after crisis and feeling like we have to beg for and negotiate with our own representatives to address the crises seriously. they shouldn’t have to be disciplined by the base into mustering an appropriate response to a fucking coup!

He seems to have a ~2023 understanding of LLMs/AI as the "plagiarism machine" you specifically seek out versus our present reality in which various AI tools are being foricibly attached to a large number of digital infrastructures. My university-issued laptop has a Copilot button on the keyboard.

I also don't want to disparage digitized or born-digital material, which is important material in archives/libraries, and a big part of our mission to preserve the human record. Rather, I wanted to speak about our shifting relationship to materiality & its importance in an increasingly digital world
