I wish more parents realized that if their kid is a princess, then that means the parent is a monarch. I enjoy being told “Yes, king” when asking my daughter to get ready in the morning.

It was never about proving our "relevance." We already were that. But insisting we take that idea on board as a program to our own salvation was a neat distraction.
The biggest takeaway from the WVU shitshow is that all the public humanities style solutions haven’t addressed the fundamental antagonisms towards our work
