He doesn’t need to light anything. He just needs to encourage and incite someone else to do the deed. Which is precisely what he’s up to…

I’m sure lots do escalate. I’d suggest things like burglaries and thefts which are reported after the event where there’s unlikely to be detailed lines of enquiry are good start. PCSOs can be trained too!

If I were deploying them I’d get them doing the low-level activities that drag PCs away from things for which a warrant card is required. I’d expect that to make a positive difference.

I’m frustrated that it takes this long to get things done. But given the machinery of state it won’t be any other way. I’m pragmatic and know there’s 14 years of Tory carelessness to tackle which isn’t done in an instant if you’re going to make it work.

We of course need Constables - but that takes a lot of time for recruitment. It will be far quicker to get some PCSO’s out there. Which is showing an effort to get some stuff done rather than doing nothing at all.

Musk hasn’t worked out that he’s simply Trump’s plaything. As soon as The Donald has had enough or taken enough he’ll cast him aside without so much as a thought.

That’s a marvellous view, which must go a long way to offset the lack of feeling!

Don't think I can help directly - but wishing you well in the hunt, Julia. Xx

Agreed. It takes time to know your brief and therefore direct your ministers and more importantly, your civil servants - who on the whole are very knowledgeable about their subject.
