Ingesting terabytes of social media data is not trivial.
I've worked to re-implement some experimental work by Divy into rsky-ingester, rsky-backfiller, and rsky-indexer
When it's production ready, it'll move off of staging.blacksky.community

FTR the app-view is up and has been for a few weeks.
Ingesting terabytes of social media data is not trivial.
I've worked to re-implement some experimental work by Divy into rsky-ingester, rsky-backfiller, and rsky-indexer
When it's production ready, it'll move off of staging.blacksky.community

I’ve been out for a week and first thing I see when I come back is Red Dwarf on its own domain, implementing cool stuff 👏👏👏

I think I'm posting this using Doll's appview and Tokimeki. Will be using this combo when I'm on the computer for the next days, any new development needs a clumsy user to truly test it 😅

I need to make that Simpson's "don't make me tap the sign" meme, but the sign says: "saying atproto cannot be decentralized because if Bluesky wants Bluesky users only can interact with other Bluesky users is like saying email cannot be decentralized because GMail could do the same".

Anyone knows were @bookhive.buzz is sourcing the books metadata? Curious because last time I looked into this topic, available book metadata was pretty lacking everywhere, and the people behind @musicbrainz.org were planning to so books but that is not happening soon.

Bluesky infra costs are a Bluesky thing, not an Atproto thing.
They decided to do their product that way, but that doesn't mean everything built in Atproto needs to be the same.
