Sick guy (long covid since ‘22)

You should feel responsible for your fellow humans, all of them.

Don’t hate, don’t fear.

Work made me start using AI products and these are pretty cool if you don’t care about accuracy or truth. Or counting. Or time. and if you have patience for people to anthropomorphize machines… it’s a state machine, it doesn’t “know” shit! I doesn’t ”lie” to you, because it has no intent!

Trying to make an emoji sandwich, there are a lot of missing ingredients. I can do a blt, but no condiments makes it hard. I’m not creative enough to use the honeypot as mustard

Today I ate a tomato and cheese panini, which is kinda like a pizza uncrustable.

Any other long covid ppl tried ketotifen? I’ve started recently (low dose 1/2mg daily) but it seems to be helping a little bit! My brain feels clearer and I’m able to focus for longer on tasks. It’s been about 2 weeks now and I have had the crash I did with cromolyn.

You know what’s fun? Having a chronic illness where getting upset, anxious, nervous, excited, sad, angry or feeling any emotion too strongly will make you feel waaaaay worse in 24-48hrs….1/2

Today I had an avocado sandwich, with paprika and salt. Recommend, if you can still afford avocados after the tariffs.

Today, I’m happy that the neighborhood stray cat feels comfortable resting on my patio chair, but I am less happy about said cat’s decision to kill and eat a bird on the chair and then piss all over it. I’m gonna spend all my limited energy power washing the chair now. #chronicillness #disability

Does anyone with long covid use adhd meds (stimulants) to help with brain fog? My specialist Dr floated the idea, but I’m worried it would make me worse. Caffeine helps immensely with my brain symptoms and mood, but always makes me crash because then I do too much.

Today I am have symptoms in my brain. I made 3 phone calls yesterday. Each was less than 30 minutes. I wonder if the experience of headaches combined with cognitive impairment is due to problems with perfusion, or due to inflammation. I’m on like every anti inflammatory drug I can get a hold of.😖

I read an article yesterday about brain fog, and how it’s so much more serious than the name makes it sound. Reading this persona’s account of their experience made me cry, I felt seen in a way that is rare these days. People say “oh, sometimes I’m forgetful too” …(1/2)

Happy St Patrick’s day! We need to bring the homie back and have him drive all the snakes out of Washington DC. 🐍 Thanks to #longcovid I can’t enjoy a Guinness anymore, so if you can, have one for me. I even miss green bagels…

Are there any other long covid or me/cfs couples out here who both have this disease? I am mild/moderate - closer to moderate and she is severe/very severe.

My question for you: how do you divide responsibilities in the relationship? What has worked for you?

I've been thinking about how to explain the challenge of living with ME/CFS and created this cartoon visualization.

Imagine the life of someone without ME is a rainbow of activities that each take a certain amount of energy.

ME limits your energy, and thereby the vibrancy of your life.

I will pay extra dollars to have a phone that never shows me or mentions Elon Musk or Donald Trump. I remember when phones were phones and just did calls and texts, and you got in trouble for texting photos. We can go back. It was not so long ago.

Being a positive person is difficult in today’s climate. Yes there are many bad things happening right now. Directing attention to good things is not a dismissal of the reports of bad things. Humans weren’t meant to mainline all of human suffering constantly.
