This is our first press appearance for the campaign to get Zara into Canada. She's a Black trans woman from the US, came here with her husband, but he turned out to not be what she needed in a partner, and she found herself needing to leave. She's looking for temporary housing in Vancouver, so if you're in that area, or have reliably not-racist friends there who might have room, we'd be very grateful to hear about that lead. While there are many shelters, every single one (we've contacted them all) has a wait list of at least months. So if you can please boost this post hard, and if you can donate to our fundraiser (also listed below), we'd be hugely grateful, and we can carry on hoping to kick the door open into Canada for US trans folk. My name is Cait Glasson; I've been an activist for 30+ years in Canada for trans and queer spaces.
