Goodbye to #Colorado. I always hate leaving the place that feels like wild #nature is right at your fingertips. In 2 days, we'll be back in SE Texas, which has its own... niceties, I guess. But nothing compares!

For #FossilFriday and #Arachtober meet a lovely fossil scorpion. This is Waeringoscorpio. It is 395 million years old (scale bar 5mm), and those weird structures sticking out of the side have been interpreted to be external gills.

There's something deeply fascinating about caves, especially living ones. Check out that honkin' big piece of cave bacon! Woohoo #geology! (Baby did great, though fussy to the end. Hubby choked down their claustrophobia and soldiered through proudly. 👏)
