Maybe Lab, along with the Con's and Ref, are preparing to build their own collections when the refugee numbers really go up, once the climate change that they're determined to either wilfully ignore or do too little about, really bites.

You can always rely on Labour factionalism. Labour together have lived by a vicious sword, fitting if their chosen one also falls on it.

How many lives destroyed for that obscene wealth too?

Not a bad Saturday evening. Other than the drone of road traffic in the distance, just the wind in the trees and the sound of the fire. I don't think anyone else has ever used the pit other than me, so might as well make the most of my effort setting the area up before winter rolls in.

Also I've progressed into the abandoned orchard with some paths. Been popular with other people in the area, going down with their morning coffee, dogs or their (grand)kids exploring (some kids even camped in their one weekend). Have caught the wildlife using them too so no harm done there.

Haven't updated about this for quite awhile. this is what this area looks like now. Bench made from old floorboards, everything salvaged or using scraps from other things.

Was putting my trail cam out and came across this little fella. Fairly certain it's a Shrew. It was just out exposed in an open field so I moved it into a large clump of clover so it has some cover from birds/cats.

Been carefully working my way into the abandoned orchard to help my brain and found some already relatively clear areas like this (I assume the oaks have got big enough to kill anything under them now) and have been rewarded for my endeavours.

Made it to the clearer area, had to cut off some low branches but most were dead from lack of light being so overgrown. Went a bit higher on that central tree to get some head height, but they were all dead anyway. Using them to make a rough deadwood hedge along part of it to keep the nettles away.

My dad was just randomly in a pissy this morning and got me very unsettled in turn dealing with him. I think he forgot a friend of mine died a few days ago or just wasn't thinking as is his m.o. Decided in the late afternoon to do something with it and have started to cut a path through the brambles

Have a couple pictures of roses from my mum's garden, it was so bright today my camera couldn't handle the colour.

Everything's on the extremely grim side, so spent the evening checking on how the veg is coming up (very well, see images) and a short walk. Green spaces are vital for peoples mental health, wish any Gov't would get on board with that in designing housing areas instead of paving or selling off.

We need wealth taxes to support Govt investment. The 2% on assets over £10m would be the hardest to do but there are plenty other options to do first. Wages need to catch up with productivity, as the wealthy have just creamed those benefits off for a decade at least. We're also at the point that

Last Post before I let the depression win and stare blankly at the ceiling for a few hours.

My favourite fantasy book. Very steampunk, extremely rich in variety of species and cultures. Love the madness of the Weavers, intrigued by the Garuda's laws/perception and the horror of the Slake Moths.

Another great Scifi book I can recommend is this, unless you really don't like spiders.

A change from politics etc as it's stirring feelings I try my best to disregard everyday.

One of my favourite books, and the first of The Culture books I read way back when, still happily sits on my shelf and gets read again from time to time.
