I need to save this and read all these articles… but not on my small phone screen where I use Bluesky… I don’t see a “save” or “pin” option… any organizational hacks out there?
I’ve decided to leave Scientific American after an exciting 4.5 years as editor in chief. I’m going to take some time to think about what comes next (and go birdwatching), but for now I’d like to share a very small sample of the work I’ve been so proud to support (thread)

I affirm this. (If you ignore context, you can make the Bible say just about anything! In the hands of haters, it can confirm our biases and prejudice. In the hands of lovers who are patient for understanding, it’s a treasure.)
I believe in LGBTQ+ inclusion because of Jesus and Scripture, not in spite of them.
I believe in it because of the toxic fruit I’ve seen come from marginalizing the queer community and because of the good fruit I’ve seen come from fully affirming LGBTQ+ folks.

Maybe some combination of intentional human motives and (possibly more so) ‘principalities and powers of this dark world,’ yes.

The point of nominating someone like Gaetz as AG or Tulsi as DNI is to force you to eat this shit and lose so much hope for something real that you give up.

I’ve reserved a little slice of my life for backpacking, and it’s been awesome… hiked the Grand Canyon R2R (N. Kaibab -> Bright Angel) with a night camping at Phantom Ranch in 2022, and just got back from Zion NP, which was of course incredible.
