Well then I guess you'll be out tomorrow.

I don't need to know a specific counterfactual to have doubts about a proper source. I can be critical of methods and arguments.

With genAI? If you don't know the counterfactual, you don't know it's wrong, you have to go look at sources anyway, so then I still have to go do that and save no time.

I mean, at best it spits out the consensus of what the next word will be given a consensus decoding of the prompt.

The major problem compared to other sources is that I can see their methods, their reasoning, the entire basis for the conclusions drawn and information presented.

Oh my heart. That's the one I love. Rode a similar one when leaving new York, but it was awful and I'd rather drive, just too many people, like some big orange crush. Not my favourite type of people either, not shiny happy people.

Oh it has WiFi, What's the frequency?

Deconstructing a barely constructed food is... Beautiful.

Ah... I trust always prefixed with "in my experience...."

Lampoon is a top tier word.

It's merlot red, settled it.

Hex #87150A is the best descriptor of that sea.
November 18, 2025 at 10:42 AM
This comes up tagged as deep puce background.... That's the same colour as the sea right?

OH GODDAMNIT!

It's wine-dark... why didn't I say it is the wine-dark sea....
November 18, 2025 at 10:37 AM
Allegedly this is puce?

I've never seen a flea this colour
November 18, 2025 at 10:36 AM
Side note #photography and #photosky... What colour is the sea in the second photo?

I called it dried-blood/puce for the alt description and it's hex code is roughly #9B2E17 but when I google puce, it is super lavendery?

But I am colourblind so what do I know lol.

I will steal this idea.
November 18, 2025 at 10:19 AM
First drafts especially... The first draft is the most important part of writing.

Editing improves writing quality, not idea quality. The first draft is all about the ideas and general structure the piece will take.

Couldn't agree more.

It's crazy to me to see so many academis and students use AI for foundational processes.

Note taking, first drafts, organising thoughts, generating questions... These are the most important parts of being an academic. Any problems here cascade through the whole process.

No thank you :)

One of the studientest meals I've ever seen.

Beats my "tinned tomatoes, curry powder, lentils, green bean one pot" thing by a wide margin.
November 18, 2025 at 9:03 AM
...for what possible reason do we need or want this?!
