Started painting minis this year. Takes a long time because of work and the littles, but finished a decent dread. Doing a couple Saturines right now. Working my way down in size to Marines, and when I do, I already have a certain Sternguard Veteran ready to my first.

I would argue that one of the intentions of the electoral college was to prevent this. The founders knew at some point people would vote for someone who was a danger to the country, and the electors should be people wise enough to not do that. That it failed with 47 is proof it shouldn't exist.

Movies/TV is essentially acting+photography+writing. Animation is essentially acting+drawing/painting+writing. It's silly to think that one is superior to the other. That's why music videos exist, to be the best. Acting+music+photography+writing.

I don't think we should be off exploring space. I think there's valuable things in space, be it resources, advancements or dreams. But as Jason points out, interstellar colonies are impossible without more energy than we can imagine. We need to make people understand we need to fix our home instead.

Through history people have not cared about their environment, but when you look at historical examples, a lot of them were a minority of megalomaniacs. I would argue that the average modern person does want to preserve the things around them. I find this attitude less in the US and more elsewhere

I have not, but I'm vaguely familiar with the premise. They also used this concept in Interstellar as the backup plan I believe.

Yeah, but there is a toxic part of this dream. If we believe we can escape to the stars, we don't have to care as much about what we already have. That might be why some billionaires have been pushing space so hard. If we think we can leave whenever we want, we won't care that the planet is dying

The only thing I would say is that I imagine it would be better to send frozen embryos rather than people. Much easier to maintain, and you can send a lot of them, enough to set up a colony and not have it genetically collapse. The problem is how do you turn those embryos into people?

Really all the names from that era of Cracked are still working in pretty accessible ways, in the same field they were then, most with more success. Makes you wonder what could have been had they not dropped the ball, although maybe they had to leave to grow.

Why is no one talking about the crown part of the comment? The only thing he could possibly be talking about is the M in TIME that's partially obscured by his head. To not realize what that's what the "crown" is is really bad. It's like kindergarten level of cognitive image processing.
