In other words, whatever the result of this so called action Harvard can take minimum resposibilty and has little opportunity for continued action.

They can say "hey i tried, but what more can i do"

When action is community based and unilateral you establish a basis for further action + engagement

If you dont meet these criteria ypu are essentially out sourcing your action. Thats fine as a first step, but without a result you control that engages your community you cannot expect to be effective. You have abdicated both resposibility and initiative.

Real action, real resistance has 2 criteria to meet in my mind:
1. The initiative and result should not require the participation of a 3rd organization to have an effect
2. The action should require the agreement and support of the community in which the organization is placed

But instead we get a couple lawsuits.

Lawsuits is a bare minimum effort, whether your harvard or gavin newsom because you are abdicating any power you have to the process.

They could leverage the significant legal and corporate expertise of faculty to do probono work for anti-authoritarians fighting the admin

They could create academic shell organizations to reduce the effectiveness of funding threats

They could significantly increase their intl recruiting efforts

Thats right. They filed a cpulle of lawsuits, thats not fighting back its laying the groundwork for future capitulation that they can blame on the courts.

Real action would be unilateral:
