A thought experiment especially for Americans:
If a genie provided bus service everywhere, on plausible bus routes not point to point, most drivers would keep driving.
If a genie made cars disappear, American roads would be full of pedestrians, cyclists, and people using other mobility devices.
Yet another evidence review argues very strongly that simply providing alternatives to driving doesn't reduce driving

This isn't surprising, if only thanks to habit. If I unthinkingly jump in my car for every trip (as many do), new buses won't change that

why even bother writing this without explaining how this so-called nonpartisan "think tank" determines whatever they're calling their "State Tax Competitiveness Index"? This is a waste of ink

or is WW is just routinely promoting tax-averse sentiment? that certainly wouldn't be shocking

whatever you think of Spanberger, the fact that her opponent ran a campaign based almost entirely on transphobia and is on track to eat shit in the biggest blowout the state has seen since 2009 is unambiguously a huge win
Earle-Sears ran what felt like 12 billion ads about how much she hated trans kids and I didn’t hear a single pundit say she should stick to real issues that affect real people.
