On Day 3 of #WeekWithoutDriving there were some short bike rides to the gym, work, and then tennis lessons (thanks to DPR for the amazing program!), and a nice long walk to the Resevoir District park on this cool morning with the pupper.

Hit 500 miles on the e-bike today doing what I love the most: hauling groceries from the farmers market and running errands along the MBT. Always grateful to @amantgeorge.bsky.social who found this gorgeous bike for me and whose e-bike guide is a must read!

Grateful to the DPW team that came out this morning to address outstanding trash issues on 1st St NW and adjoining streets (like dumped paint cans, trash, random bits of furniture).

Went to the @wmata.com session for ANC commissioners to get updates on the Better Bus rollout which goes into effect on June 29! Also got a couple of signs which are now up at the 1st and RI Avenue NW G8 stops (and yes, that route is changing too!)

It’s not even 10am and I’ve already yelled at two drivers — one for almost hitting me in the crosswalk (I was halfway thru crossing, driver was not looking), the other who blocked the crosswalk because that would save them a precious one second, pedestrians be damned.

Helped install this little free library today, funded by ANC 5E (that I advocated for)! Grateful to neighbors Eric & Claire who did 99% of the work. This library is located at the triangle pocket park at the corner of 1st St NW, RI Ave NW & T St NW. Come take a book and leave a book!
