Since Ysabel’s victory in 2024, we’ve expanded unarmed crisis response and passed a Living Wage that will give tourism workers guaranteed access to affordable healthcare and $30/hr by 2028.

In 2022, Eunisses and I grew the progressive bloc, which allowed us to pass the strongest package of renter protections LA has seen in a generation – and a Sanctuary City ordinance.

In 2020, Nithya shook the political establishment, creating a blueprint to win a better future for working Angelenos.

Corporations think their endless resources can buy endless power and it’s despicable.

Working people deserve livable wages and massive corporations like Delta, United and Hilton who profit off their backs can afford to pay them.

‼️ICE in LA Update

Even with multiple court orders in place to stop the raids, Trump is ignoring the law to terrorize our communities and tear families apart.

If you see 🧊, call the LA Rapid Response Hotline at 1-888-624-4752.

Permanent housing placements in LA are at record levels.

Still, thousands of people are living on the streets because we don’t have enough housing.

Every one of the 64 units in the new Alvarado & Temple Apartments means a person or family is off the street & finally has a shot at stability.

🚨ICE UPDATES 6.30🚨
July 1, 2025 at 12:30 AM
ICE showed up at a *confidential* Domestic V*olence Shelter.

First schools, then workplaces, then churches, and now going after survivors of abuse – nothing is off limits to the Trump administration. We need to keep showing up to keep families together.

Children’s Hospital LA is shutting down its Trans Youth Clinic this July, putting lives at risk.

We can’t abandon our most vulnerable communities when they need us most. We need to come together, mobilize, and make sure every child continues to receive the care they need.
June 12, 2025 at 11:37 PM
More Marines won’t help anything in Los Angeles, we don’t even know where they are.

What we need is for this administration to stop terrorizing working families and get ICE out of LA.

🚨🚨DO NOT SIGN🚨🚨

Instead of paying their workers a living wage, corporations are spending MILLIONS on a misleading petition to repeal LA’s Living Wage Ordinance.

Don’t be fooled! Don’t sign the misleading petition!

Unarmed Crisis Response gives us a chance to move beyond the failed status quo in public safety.

Instead of a one-size-fits-all approach that sends armed officers to veterans with mental illness, we can intervene & build empathy while better serving our most vulnerable residents.

Fast food corporations like Subway directly benefit from widespread wage theft and abuse of workers like Eva.

That’s why we introduced a Fast Food Fair Work Motion in LA to provide:

✅ Predictable scheduling
✅ Guaranteed Time Off
✅ “Know Your Rights Trainings”

For months, families on Mohawk St had to fight unfair evictions to stay off the streets.

These families– many of whom had lived there for decades– were being forced from their homes under the guise of “substantial renovations,” when any necessary repairs could be completed without forcing them out.

Thank you Children’s Hospital LA and Attorney General Rob Bonta for coming together to make sure that ALL children in our communities can access the critical healthcare they deserve.

What kind of monster do you have to be to cut off legal services to children?

We introduced a package of legislation at City Council to protect immigrant Angelenos, including a motion for stopgap funding to provide these critical legal services to families. Visit bit.ly/migrantnews to read more.

Trump wants to divide us and instill fear in our communities until we give in to his dangerous agenda. But that’s not going to happen — we’re going to fight.

This week, Children’s Hospital LA stopped providing health care to new trans youth patients in response to Trump’s executive orders.
