Hugh of Borg: Resistance is not futile
@hugh258.bsky.social
Language learned in the Royal Canadian Navy .
Ours is now a long, bitter, beautiful struggle.
Despise Nazis, MAGA, Maple MAGA, and all fascists.
Fear is a reaction. Courage is a decision.
Respect the Kaswentha
Canada wins. Always.
True, but I'll cite WARRIOR and VICTORY. Too bad she couldn't have been saved, but for a nation still on rations, I get it.

You should have kept her as a museum ship.

The people who fixed the bread prices? Not sure I put a lot of stock in their opinion.

Next time the stakes will be too high to tolerate treason.

No. The rick are unimpressive up close. We kicked his bat-shit crazy Nazi Grandpa's arse into the hoosgow the moment we declared war. Today we have many who will be cooling heels in similar fashion if the balloon goes up.

It's a cesspool. The AI has been lobotomized as well. Well done, Xelon.

Thanks and backattcha! As I research for my tome on modern public education, I have to delve into Xhitter et al. It wears at one. A friendly voice is nice.

No one who is good in politics doesn't have fighter pilot ego. It's a requirement for the job. I sure as anything wouldn't want that Sword of Damocles dangling above me.

Churchill had tres beaucoup baggage.
Bugger was a titan with a pen in his hand though.

As an historian, I try to put my feet in their shoes. What could have been done better? Much. That said, everyone fucks up and wars aren't won by the best force, their won by the force that commits the fewest critical mistakes.
No plan survives first contact.

Absolutely agree.

Also, I'd hate for my sons to be judged by the mistakes of their dad. - not good historical analysis either. When you put on your big-kid pants, you must own your own decisions. Churchill's dad was problematic and died from clap - yet the son was the best man for the task at hand.

Based on his archive papers and letters. He was an appeaser, but with nuance derived from abject horror of what WW1 did to UK. Bad decisions from a place of concern. However such primary sources tend to get "curated" & tweaked in hindsight. Speaking viscerally, Eddie Windsor was a fucking traitor.

You could build a psych PhD dissertation from that post.

No such thing as a foster dog. You love them and do the hard thing.

The grief is like losing a parent. It massively sucks. Just waiting for the right time, but the racoons are getting annoyed when I tackle them in the yard to rub their ears and belly.
Yeah - I need another dog.

When I sleep, they're still cuddled under my feet. It's an ache that doesn't heal. Only solution is "more dogs". Looking forward to that.

A classroom with dogs (mine were sheepoos) is a place of learning. They profoundly change things.
Billy is struggling? Take Lola for a walk.
Need someone to cuddle cause you had a shit night? Here's Lucy. Scratch her ears and cuddle.
You're screaming? You're upsetting the dog - don't.
It works.

If you know anyone who stutters, have them work with a dog and read aloud to the dog. It's a stress issue some struggle with. Dogs are great as they listen without judgement or censure. I've seen several students stop stuttering by having them read to dogs.
Dogs are better than us.
