The two things I most appreciate in an actor are broad range of character types and a screen presence that makes me forget the actor’s name and only think of the character.

In that vein, Philipp Seymour Hoffman and Cait Blanchett come to mind right away.

There are others, I’ll think of em

Have you heard Bo Burnham’s sendup of bro country?

Racism?

I don’t listen to top 40 corporate country (my local media market of 9MM people doesn’t have one) so the closest I ever come is the Outlaw channel on XM

But I find it hard to believe there’s overt racism in broadcast radio music these days. How are they sugar coating it?

Most “Corporate Country” is just pop with a bit of twang.

Since I haven’t been to. Steak & Shake in decades, I googled the name to see the font, half expecting full on SS lightning bolts.

The logo advertises beef tallow and bitcoin.

Is it too much to ask that a senior leader knows the difference between “less” and “fewer?”

Back when I was practicing regularly, it was at a free public range in Oakland CA of all places. There are measured shooting lanes and behind them are three walking courses with 3D targets that wind through the woods, like 3 golf courses. It’s a fantastic spot.

Had to switch to crossbow 10 yrs ago.Shoulder couldn’t take practice anymore. If it’s just one shot, no problem, but that just won’t work with a bow, which needs frequent practice

I had to get my surgeon to sign off so I can crossbow during archery season (which starts in July around here)

If I could hunt does in California, I would. The only reason I kill deer is meat in the freezer. Does are much more plentiful and I’d fill my tag first hour every year.

That is definitely a downside.

Even with a perfect shot - one that takes out a lung AND through the heart, they can still run 50 yards before they drop.

Grilled deer heart is the most singularly delicious food ever.

Since I hunt w arrows rather than bullets or shells, it still grills up just fine even with an arrowhead mark.

Clarification:

The housing projects I refer to were built by private sector and owned by private sector, leased for 50 or 100 years to DoD.

But has some smaller facilities folded in.
New housing was a million times nicer than old.

Full circle: my dad died of Parkinson’s, which he probably got from the horrendously toxic water in the old buildings at Lejeune.

I’ve been involved in financing some military housing deals and in the small sample size I observed, quality of buildings and neighborhood was vastly better than the older stuff it replaced.

The one I did most work with was Atlantic Marine Communities, which is mostly Camp Lejeune
