I love dumb things. A lot. Bylines at a few places including Time, Bustle and The Mary Sue

I find the delta these women live in fascinating-- the massive gap between reality and execution. Because they are messy, and mediocre and act like the world owes them something, and some people believe it does

It delights me because it's grotesque in a John Waters sort of way

Because there is a VERY specific type of blandly hot white woman that will always be infantilized to a fetishistic degree. I have one in my neighborhood FB group I'm obsessed with. She has 6 cats. One keeps escaping. People are fed up. She plays the victim each time, and some rush to defend

And to be very clear, if you said "Kate, I want you to create ad imagery for the Mid-Autumn Festivall" you would get something EQUALLY inexplicable, because I may have the internet at my disposal, but I have no cultural context for it. And that's why I love this stuff.

I love how her grandpa husband is clearly mad with terrible grey hair. The kids are staring vacantly at boxes, unsure what to do with them, and the tree they're trying to sell is hideous and in the background, without anything on it. Spectacular

Ah yes, the undocumented among us. A notorious demographic for living in housing they bought, and not in the fringe of society, forced to rent forever

It's baffling to me there are people who are basing their entire understanding of words and their composition based on vibes! A mind is a terrible thing to waste

We should all know less about each other

It works the other way too-- you love something but you know the audience will find it problematic so you have to gently bash it first so they don't eviscerate it and lose track of the piece. That was a problem I had writing for some pubs

Do you remember that contemporaneous Dawson's Creek episode about it? I think about it far too much.

I read the article. She's a turd. Just say you don't agree with how one specific group has embraced you, or else the silence is the answer Ma'am.

In Chicago, one tried to run after someone they were trying to kidnap and promptly blew his achilles out. It was glorious.
