for every family with children who celebrate Christmas there was at least one year where some stupid toy you wanted took forever to put together and your parents were up until two am swearing and muttering curses at Mattel, knowing you would run into the living room screaming at 6 am to open it

I have ornaments from a lot of trips. And a cat who I haven’t trusted with a tree for the past 7 years. I have a little fake tree high on a shelf this year so am rediscovering some of those ornaments.

I love sandhill cranes. The first time I saw one flying I swore I was seeing a dinosaur. They are now really common in my area but still impressive.
